All licensed market participants in the Turkish
Electricity market are obliged to forecast the generation and consumption
amounts of their portfolios on an hourly basis and nominate them to EPİAŞ.
Deviations between forecasted and realized data create energy imbalance and are
penalized by EPİAŞ.
Within the scope of the Balancing Settlement Regulation, licensed market
participants join together to form a Balance Responsible Group and can provide
significant reductions in energy imbalance costs with passive balancing
management.
